WHR offers an exclusive horseback riding trail, in the wonderful Kingdom of Bhutan.
Wide natural environments which has remained isolated for centuries, a fantastic plac where people still live in harmony with the nature. While I was boarding to Bhutan, I was pleased to see the crew dressed in the traditional way. During the flight, I was impressed by the beauty of some of the highest mountains on Earth the plane was passing by. Landing as well was a special experience: planes regularly land in the small valley of Paro and to do that they have to fly at low altitude and slalom among mountains and houses.
Traditional buildings were welcoming us nearby the small airport. The sight of a farmer working with a pair of oxen beyond a fence let me immediately realise Bhutan was truly a unique place. From the airport we reached an hotel in the nearby valley of Paro, later in the afternoon after a bit of relax we visited the local national museum to become more familiar with the country culture. In the evening dinner was served in hotel. The next day, to reach the starting point of the trail, we cross the country (W/ E) with a 8 hours drive transfer. During the trip we stopped at the beautiful Stupas, in bars / restaurants for drinks and lunch, and we visit Trongsa, a wonderful place where the royal family was used to live in the past. Driving from Trongsa, in the evening we reached Jakra (Bumthang valley) where we stopped and found our accomodation for the night.
